Terms of Use

These terms govern every visit, search, and use of material on Ripley County Criminal History. Continuing to use the website means that you agree to each condition below. If you do not accept them, discontinue use of the site.

NO FCRA USE. Ripley County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It is a Missouri records reference, not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no connection to a court, law-enforcement office, or state agency. It does not hold official files, perform official checks, or submit documents for a visitor.

The content identifies custodians of Ripley County records, including the Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to independently operated search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Interfere with site operation or another visitor's access
  • Use bots, scraping software, or another automated collection method
  • Attempt to enter systems or data without authorization
  • Use site content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Violate any applicable federal, Missouri, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information reached here may be used to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate against a person. Such conduct is prohibited and may be criminal. Missouri Sex Offender Registry information is supplied for community awareness, and Missouri law forbids using it to facilitate a crime. It must not support vigilantism or an adverse FCRA-regulated decision.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Ripley County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Site content and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Make any other choice governed by the FCRA
  • Determine eligibility for a government benefit, permit, or license
  • Set insurance terms or evaluate creditworthiness
  • Review a rental or housing application
  • Make an employment decision

A legally permissible check for a regulated purpose must come from Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS or a provider that complies with the FCRA and all applicable laws.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Missouri attorney can assess how an expungement rule, warrant, conviction, or pending charge applies to a particular set of facts.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are offered "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • An outside search result will be complete or correctly matched
  • The pages contain no error, defect, or security weakness
  • The website will remain continuously available
  • Every stated fact is complete, current, and accurate

Charges, dispositions, access status, and expungement orders can change a record. Delays and gaps are unavoidable. Nothing published here is an official statement from the Ripley County Circuit Court, Sheriff, or any Missouri agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to public offices, court systems, Missouri agencies, legal resources, and independent search services. Those destinations control their own availability, prices, content, and data practices. Their terms apply after a visitor leaves this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code are owned by Ripley County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, modifying, distributing, or creating a derivative work requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site is not liable for loss or damage arising from its use, including reliance on content or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the site harmless from a claim or demand caused by your use of it or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms, including applicable provisions of the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, and criminal-history dissemination law in section 43.540 RSMo. A dispute concerning site use must be brought in a court located in Missouri.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision is narrowed only as far as necessary.
